How We Install & Connect Your Gas Stove

We check your kitchen layout, gas supply (cylinder or existing line) and stove position, then give you a written quote.

We position the stove, run the gas pipework, and fit the regulator, valves and flexible connector to SANS 10087-1 standard.

The connection is leak-tested and issued with a Certificate of Compliance (COC).

We make sure your stove lights and runs correctly, show you how to use it safely, and remain available for servicing.

A standard gas stove installation in Cape Town typically costs between R1 500 and R5 000, depending on the distance from the gas supply, whether a new cylinder enclosure or gas line is required, and the complexity of the connection. How much does it cost to install a gas stove in South Africa?

Installation typically costs R1 500 to R5 000 depending on the gas supply and pipework required, excluding the stove itself. You will receive an exact written quote before work begins.

Can I connect a gas stove myself?

No. South African law requires gas appliance connections to be done by a SAQCC-registered installer and certified with a COC. A DIY connection is illegal, dangerous and will void your insurance.

Do I need a COC for a gas stove?

Yes. A Certificate of Compliance is legally required for every gas installation, including a freestanding stove. We issue one with every installation we complete.

How long does a gas stove installation take?

Most residential stove connections are completed in 2 to 4 hours, including leak testing and certification. Installations that need a new gas line or cylinder enclosure may take a full day.

Can a gas stove be used during load shedding?

Yes – gas stoves cook without electricity (most light with a battery or manual igniter), which is one of the main reasons Cape Town households switch to gas.
