GAS INSTALLATIONS
MELKBOSSTRAND
We’re here to help
Melkbosstrand’s beachfront looks straight across at Robben Island with Table Mountain rising behind it — one of the more striking views on the whole West Coast — and that beachfront position brings the same corrosion challenge Core Gas Installations plans around throughout this stretch of coast.
OUR SERVICES
Gas Installations
We install any type of gas appliance, from stoves and hobs to fireplaces and geysers, and cover all types of installations.
After a new installation, maintenance or repair, we will issue a compliance certificate in accordance with SANS 10087-1:2013.
We conduct inspections on all installations and repairs, covering components such as regulators and isolation and safety shut-off valves.
We can supply and install any size gas cylinder cage to your existing installation to meet all SANS requirements.
We offer maintenance to existing gas installations, ensuring that piping and fittings are always in the best condition.
Using state-of-the-art sniffer devices, we can detect the smallest of leaks on your gas installation, putting your mind at ease.
Gas Installation Services in Melkbosstrand
An unprotected fitting here shows wear in a fraction of the time it would take a few kilometres inland.
We install and service gas stoves, hobs, ovens, fireplaces and geysers for Melkbosstrand homes, with cylinder cages caged to SANS clearance standards and positioned to minimise direct exposure to prevailing wind and sea spray wherever a property’s layout allows. A good number of Melkbosstrand homes function as weekend or holiday properties rather than full-time residences, so we also build reliability after periods of non-use into every specification decision, not just performance on the day of installation.
All work is certified under SANS 10087-1:2013, and we recommend a shorter maintenance interval here than for suburbs set back from the coast — a small sign of corrosion on a regulator or hose is far cheaper to address early than after it’s failed. Our leak detection service, using electronic sniffer equipment, is a sensible check for anyone reopening a Melkbosstrand property after it’s stood empty for a season.
We’re also happy to walk a Melkbosstrand homeowner through exactly why a particular fitting grade or maintenance interval is being recommended for a coastal property before any work is booked. Core Gas Installations offers a 24-hour emergency line, and through the Core Services Group we can bring in Core Electrical or Core Leak Detection where a Melkbosstrand job needs it.
